Back in middle school, my friends and I used a very simple coded language for writing secret messages. I saw some posts about needing to hide one’s beliefs from partners/bosses/parents so I wanted to share it with you! These would also be great to incorporate into sigils since they are simple lines and dots.

Vintage IWW 4 hour workday prints

Can you imagine? Would give us so much more rest and free time.

The average office worker is only productive for 3 hours a day.

Every article talking about this study talks about how bosses can squeeze more labor out of workers, or how workers can squeeze more labor out of themselves, but the reality is that the human brain only has so much capacity to focus on unpleasant tasks, and people generally won’t work more than that without the threat of force (like in manual and service industry jobs where work is easily quantified and workers are being monitored all the time to make sure they don’t slack off; the threat of being fired and losing one’s ability to eat is the threat of force). People in hunter-gatherer societies do about that same amount of work.

The working day isn’t only about productivity, it’s about keeping you busy too, so you’ll have no time do to other things (like study, discover that you can fight back capitalism, organize, things like that).

This Illustration Is Filled With Secrets And It Gets More Creepy The More You Look At It

Grab your magnifying glasses and put your thinking hats on, because boy, do we have a mystery for you! Just hours ago, a drawing went viral online, which at first glance seems like a depiction of an ordinary diner in the 40s or 50s. But if you look closer, you’ll see that there’s nothing normal about this image whatsoever…

You’ve probably spotted the skull emerging from the coffee cup already, but that’s only the tip of it. If you focus further into the diner, you’ll see all kinds of crazy stuff happening all around. From mysterious tentacles to a blind person enjoying his morning newspaper.

What does it all mean? We have no idea, except that the illustrator behind it is Jeff Lee Johnson, who drew the image for “Fantasy Flight Games’ The Investigators of Arkham Horror, Tales of Adventure and Madness” rulebook.

Meet the woman who put 50 million stolen articles online so you can read them for free

Alexandra Elbakyan is a highbrow pirate in hiding. The 27-year-old graduate student from Kazakhstan is operating a searchable online database of nearly 50 million stolen scholarly journal articles, shattering the $10 billion-per-year paywall of academic publishers.

That’s the woman who founded Sci-Hub.

She has even been compared to Robin Hood, although she said, “Sometimes I think it is not a good comparison, since what he was doing was illegal. And sharing books and research articles should not be illegal.”
